Dan was born in Tucson in 1960. He graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona. Dan graduated from the Northwestern University School of Law, cum laude, in 1986.
After graduating from Northwestern, Dan practiced law for nine years with Brown & Bain, P.A., a large law firm which then had offices in Phoenix, Tucson and Palo Alto, California. At Brown & Bain, Dan was a partner working in the Phoenix and Tucson offices, and his practice emphasized complex business transactions and the litigation of complex business disputes Dan left Brown & Bain in 1995 to join Quigley & Whitehill.
In 2003, after representing the Tohono O'odham Gaming Authority for ten years, Dan became the General Counsel of the Gaming Authority, which operates the Desert Diamond Casinos, in addition to continuing in private practice.?
